COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
For more than five decades, Dosal has been an upstanding corporate citizen, contributing significantly to the economic well-being of the communities of Hialeah, Opa-Locka and Miami, as well as the State of Florida. In recognition of its 50 years in business, Dosal received proclamations in July 2012 from Miami-Dade County and the City of Opa-Locka for its dedication to the local communities and the State of Florida. Dosal is the recipient of the Key to the City of Miami in recognition for its ongoing efforts in quality and contributing to the economic growth of Miami.
Dosal is a member in good standing of the Better Business Bureau. Dosal was also recognized by Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen in May 2001 for its fine work in maintaining Dosal’s high quality and standard of excellence and exemplifying the Cuban-American tradition of hard work, entrepreneurship and dedication to its community.
Dosal is committed to its community, with CEO & CFO Yolanda Nader serving on the Board of Directors of The Beacon Council, The Community Investment Council of United Way of Miami-Dade County, and the Deans Council of Florida International University. Dosal is also active in the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and contributes to various charities, such as the 5000 Role Models Scholarship Program, the Florida Institute of CPAs 1040K Race Scholarship Program, the Association of Retarded Citizens, South Florida, as well as contributing to a chair-endowment at Miami Dade College. Additionally, the late Mrs. Margarita Dosal was a lifetime donor to La Liga Contra El Cancer.
To commemorate Dosal’s 50 years of being in business in the South Florida community in 2012, the company donated a total of 50 $5,000 one-time scholarships to its eligible full-time employees, or their children and grandchildren, who are enrolled as degree-seeking students in accredited educational institutions.
